Hello,
As per the instructions, from the WP admin panel I select upload theme. I browse to the .zip file and select it and click upload. This does not work. I try multiple times. It does not work. I give up on this then I unzip the file and upload the helpinghands directory to the wp themes directory using ftp. I can now select and Activate helping hands. It appears to be working; I can make simple changes, etc…. but when I install and activate the required plugins, I get INTERNAL SERVER ERROR 500. I have attempted this install several times, step by step from the instructions, and this happens every time. Each time I have to delete the entire WP installation and re-install to get the site back working.
The instructions also says to modify the server php.ini file, however my service does not have one that I can find, or it is not visible to me. I did, however, modify the .htacess file for this domain as instructed.

I purchased this theme because it touted being simple and quick. This is not my idea of simple and quick, that it will not work out of the box. I have spent about 6 hours on this issue. I see that others have reported similar problems but no one bother to post the solutions else I would have tried them. I am hoping that someone has a quick fix for this, else I will be seeking a refund. I will not pay for something that does not work. I cannot afford any more time for this “quick and easy”. I could just stick with the stock wp themes for now, which are free.
