    Hello

    I’ve been making some changes in the Custom CSS panel on the Styling window in Theme Options.
    The changes work as expected on Firefox but not on Chrome.

    I’ve cleaned cache, shift-f5 for css reload, opened a new window, but the site keeps ignoring my custom css in Chrome.

    Some things I’ve changed:

    /* header */
    .sd-logo { margin: 10px 0 10px 0;}
    img.custom-logo { max-height:90px; width:auto;}
    .sd-unstyled-menu .sd-menu-nav ul li.has-sub:hover > a { color:#888;}

    /* tabs on homepage */
    #sd-tab3247 { min-heigth: 600px;}
    .sd-insurance-tabs ul { width: 300px; padding: 0;}
    .sd-insurance-tabs ul li a { font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; padding: 14px 14px;}

    Before answering, the changes WORK on firefox, not Chrome only (never tested in IE).

    Hi there,

    That’s weird and all I can think of is still about a caching problem. If it works in FF I see no reason why it should not work on Chrome. Try loading the site in a new incognito window and see how it goes.

    Hi
    Even after cache clean, incognito window, restart process… no good.
    It doesn’t update the css on Chrome, in my computer. However, tried it on another PC. It first opened with the old css… after log-in to admin, it began showing the new css rules.
    Weird…

    Can’t even find out how to start helping to figure this.
    Let’s see how it goes when moved to production. However, if you ever hear something similar to this or come across a solution, please answer back.

    UPDATE
    Even on Firefox, the custom CSS only works if Logged In.
    If you log off, clear cache and enter private/incognito, the custom CSS disappears.

    Since I’m working directly on the new server (without the domain pointing at it – used an hack on hosts files to be able to access, create and test the site), do you think this could be the problem?

    Urgent. The site is about to go live (and the costumer won’t have log in access for now).

    I don’t see why the sever would be a problem because it has nothing to do with it but I’m not sure it isn’t the problem either. Also, the styling should appear on the site disregarding if you’re logged in or not. There is no rule in the code that restricts the code to be displayed based on user roles.

    I think the best thing to do is to put your styling in the theme’s css file and you’ll be good to go. After going live you can still test and see if it’s working or not.

    That is really weird.

    Try viewing the source code when logged in and not logged in and check the styles.css source and see if it’s coming from the same source in both options.

    Duplicated it to my localhost.
    Same problem. While logged in everything works fine. When log off, the custom CSS goes away.

    Can I send you a Duplicator package? Maybe you can test locally.

    Hi again
    After a little lot of search, I believe I’ve found the problem. However, I lack the knowledge to solve it and I hope you can help.

    The enqueing of css files is making the UltimateVC styles to be loaded “after” the theme stylesheet and the custom stylesheet. As I’ve read here this may be the problem.
    Can you please try, or explain, or even send me the file that would allow the themes CSS to be the last ones to be added to header?

    Don’t know if this explains the log in log out difference but, if it solves my problem, I will be happy.

    On a sidenote, I can’t really use the child theme that was added in the theme files because it previews really weird. I believe it must be a similar problem… if you could help making the file usable – considering you have the site on your side – I could switch to the child theme, maybe rename it.

    Hi there,

    I’m not sure why you’re encountering so many problems but I’m quite sure there are not from the theme or the Ultimate VC plugin either.

    I have made some tests including the custom css styling and the child theme and everything works as expected.

    To override any styles from the Custom CSS box you can add the !important argument to your styling code. Did you try this option?

    For example:

    body {
    background: #000 !important;
}
