    Hi Chris,

    The ‘Hide name on backers list’ displays on the donation checkout form when logged in: http://crossaid.nl/donate/

    When your logged in, it shows 2 checkboxes:

    1- Hide name on backers list
    2- Make an anonymous donation

    Number 2 I added with your help because we wanted to change the text: ‘e name on backers list’ to ‘Make an anonymous donation’. But now both checkboxes appear on the donation checkout form when logged in.

    Hi,

    Regarding the ‘hide name on backers list’ option:

    I replaced the name into ‘make an anonymous donation’ in the template.php (plugin folder/includes/checkout)

    But now when you’re logged out it shows ‘make an anonymous donation’ and when your logged in it shows ‘hide name on backers list’.

    How can I change this so it always says ‘make an anonymous donation’?

    Also I want to place this option underneath the ‘agree to terms and conditions’ checkbox. Because now its just floating somewhere in between.

    Hi there,

    You can use this WP function in your logic:

    is_user_logged_in

    For example:

    
if ( is_user_logged_in() ) {
   show checkbox 1
} else {
   show checkbox 2 
}

    If you want to alter that area you’ll need to edit the plugin’s files which I don’t really recommend.

    Where do I use the code suggested above?

    Another option I though of was using Codestyling Localization to translate the sentence but I can’t find the sentence in EDD plugin. Is it located somewhere else? We would like to change:

    ‘Hide name on backers list?’

    to

    ‘Make an anonymous donation’

    Also the location of both checkboxes is different when logged in/logged out.

    It seems as the code generates a new input box when logged out in stead of using the same as when you’re logged in.

    Hi,

    This is the way the crowdfunding plugins (together with EDD) was created. To modify the checkboxes you’ll need to alter the plugin’s files which it not recommended.

    Try looking in the crowdfunding plugin for the translation of that string.

    I’m getting this notice when trying to translate the crowdfunding plugin. I did find the string and translated it but nothing changes on the front-end.

    Did you generate your .mo file after translating the string? Also, try to search for the string with another textdomain from the select menu.

    Hi Chris,

    Yes I clicked the ‘create .mo file’ button after translating but because of the compatibility error, it doesn’t save the setting and doesn’t create a .mo file…

    Also I tried other textdomains but the string ‘hide name on backers list’ only appears in the atcf domain.

    Any other suggestions?

    That’s weird. I worked with a theme that had multiple textdomains and returned that error, but the file was generated with no problem.

    Also, did you try to look in the EDD translation for the word?

    Hey,

    I’ve checked it out and it worked fine for me. I’ve change the text to “Hide test” as you can see and everything went fine.

    Simply go to Localization > Plugins > Crowdfunding and edit the Netherlands language.

    I’m sorry but apparently the reason that your trick worked is because our testsite is running in Dutch for some reason. But the live site is in English and the English translation on respectthemountains.com doesn’t work.

    Also, the location of the ‘hide name on backers list’ sentence is different when logged out. Please see screenshots attached.

    Hey,

    1. It should be the same with the English site. Just hit scan on the English flag and then edit the file and change the text.

    2. Unfortunately that is from the EDD plugin or the ACTF plugin and I don’t think it can be changed without editing the core plugin files (which is a bad thing to do).
