    The same sized thumbnail on another page appears higher quality than the gallery thumb.

    Any way this can be altered/explained?

    There are images on the home page athleticdevelopmentonline.com
    eg. the first one (234×200)

    and the gallery page the third one is the same image (250×190)

    so quite similar in size, but quite different looking images

    not sure if it is the compression on adding to the gallery or something

    That’s weird. Honestly I can’t seem to see the difference. Though, the same default WP cropping system is used through all the theme, no third party scripts so the behavior must be the same on all images.

    no worries, it is a minor thing in my opinion. But the image is definitely darker (some kind of filter or overlay?)

    The client is more concerned with the video player issue right now.
