As far as I’m aware it calls for the sidebar in the same way that the regular Page template does, so I was expecting to see the Sidebars metabox behind the scenes.

Single-download is definitely taking effect, yes. Changes reflect on the page.

Wicked! That looks like it’s done the trick; I can now select the sidebars on the ‘downloads’ custom post type just like I can regular pages. Awesome. Really appreciate this, mate, very many thanks.

What was the solution, if you don’t mind my asking? Is it something that will need to be re-applied with subsequent updates of either the theme, or perhaps the Easy Digital Downloads software etc? If it’s a case of simply popping some extra code somewhere then I’m more than happy to do so.

Ahhh, I’m with ya. Sound. I’ve taken a backup of those files so when there’s an update in the future I should be able to fix things again.
