    I decided to start over with a fresh install. There are just too many things slowing the site down and too much stuff left hanging around from previous installs. S

    So with a fresh install of WP, with afresh database and database user, I unstalled the theme. The wird thing is no child theme was created. Did I do something wrong.

    What changes did you make to the theme? Did you alter any of the theme files or did you make changes just in the theme options page?

    Well, you can easily export the theme options page to a new file and then import the file to your child theme.
