    Hi!

    I just received a warning from my Wordfence security plugin that the Weekly Class Schedule plugin is abandoned:

    The Plugin “Weekly Class Schedule” appears to be abandoned (updated December 10, 2016, tested to WP 4.7.11).
    Type: Plugin Abandoned

    Do you have any plans to replace this plugin with another?

    In researching, this (free) one seems pretty close in functionality:

    Timetable and Event Schedule by MotoPress

    This one also looks close, but is premium:

    Hi there,

    Is the “Weekly Class Schedule” not working anymore? The Wordfence notice just lets you know that the plugin was not maintained since 2016 by the original authors. That doesn’t necessary mean it is a vulnerability in your server’s security.

    The “Weekly Class Schedule” plugin is working, but I’m using the Fitness theme for business sites, not for a hobby website. And a typical best practice is to not use abandoned plugins/themes for security reasons.

    I understand that it “might not be a vulnerability”, but I must ask:

    – Have you reviewed the plugin code?
    – Can you provide any assurance that it’s currently not a security risk?
    – Can you provide any assurance that it won’t become a security risk?

    If using abandoned plugins doesn’t concern you and you have no plans to re-evaluate your decision, I may need to re-evaluate the usage of the Fitness theme (and any of your other themes) in my sites.

    Hey John,

    I understand your concern but just as you, I am running a business too and I don’t find any benefit of investing any time & money in something that is currently in perfectly working condition.

    I have reviewed the code and it is not that advanced that it can create security issues. In fact most of it is built with core WordPress functions so if it is any security problem your main concern won’t be the plugin.

    I cannot guarantee anything because that’s not something that is 100%. No one can do that with any plugin, theme or even the WP core.

    What I can assure you is that if something happens I will do my best to fix it or find a solution as soon as possible.
