    whatever I type in the search boxes, I always get “No posts match your criteria.”

    What does the search look for? Words in the posts? I need to make the search bar look for words in my posts. Via the editor, I removed the bottom 2 drop down boxes and left only the input box and one category drop down list.

    For example, I am typing the word Hello and no posts show up (The Hello World post should show up if I am not mistaken)

    Also, the default placeholder in the input field is “Fill your keywords”. However when I type something (ex: Hello) and press Search, the placeholder changes to “Fill your keywords Hello”. Basically it adds my search word. I need to remove this and leave only the keyword I type. How can I accomplish that please?

    Solved:
    There was a mistake in searchform.php

    if (document.adv_searchform.filterCat[i].selected = true) { should be if (document.adv_searchform.filterCat[i].selected == true) {

    As for the other issue, I used the placeholder switch instead of the _e function.

    Hi there and sorry for the delay, I was out of office for the weekend.

    The search will only work with selected categories. It will look for the specified keywords in the selected categories.

    You can easily change the words (or remove them) by editing the file named “searchform.php” from the theme’s folder.

    Is there a way to set the default search category without having the user select it? For example, I want to use the Search box but always ONLY for one specific category, so I don’t need to have a dropdown selector visible. Thank you!
