    I’m having SEVERAL issues with this theme–

    1. I made a child theme for MyCollege. Took me FOREVER to hack the parent so the child theme css would even load. I finally got it to work, but it’s still messy because it’s calling the color schemes you have AFTER the child styles so I have to add “!important” after every single style.

    2. When I try to save settings in the Theme Options, it gives me an error message in the overlay. I try to refresh the page and the changes appear to be saving, but it still gives me the error overlay no matter what.

    1. I’m trying to add custom post types and new widgets to your theme. I have both renamed your Portfolio CPT and copied code from the WordPress docs on CPTs and no matter what I do I get this error: “Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_action() in…” I switched to the standard TwentyTwelve theme and both files mentioned above performed perfectly. My CPT had no problems.

    I’m getting the same results when I try to add a widget. It tells me that “Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Widget’ not found in…” Again, everything appears correctly in the default themes.

    I have removed all plugins in case of conflict. I have re-installed the theme AND WordPress. Still having issues. PLEASE HELP!

    Hi there,

    In the archive you’ve downloaded there are both the theme and a ready made child theme. You didn’t have to create your own. Please activate that and let me know how’s going.

    That is what I used, my apologies. I started with the zip file you provided, but I was having issues from the start.

    Also, I’ve never seen any documentation on having an underscore in the naming structure of the child theme, I’ve always used a dash “mycollege-child,” so I renamed it as such and reactivated it. Still nothing.

    This is weird,

    Please do the following:

    1. Replace the child theme with the one that I’ve attached.

    2. From the main theme’s folder > framework > inc replace the file named “enqueue.php” with the one attached.

    3. From the main theme’s folder > admin > functions replace the file named “functions.admin.php” with the one attached.

    Let me know how’s going.

    There was no difference in the functions.admin.php file you sent and the one on the server, so I didn’t replace that one, but for whatever reason, that new child theme seemed to fix the problems!
