    Hi there.

    The ‘Share this’ buttons on event pages open in new tab in stead of a pop-up. How can we change this so the page shows as a pop-up in stead of in a new tab?

    Ok it’s weird because it’s most of the time a pop-up by default.

    How can we create a pop-up in stead of opening it on a new tab? What template file needs to be edited and what code (javascript) should be placed there?

    Hi there and sorry for the delay. I was out of office for the winter holiday in the last 2 weeks.

    I’m not sure what do you mean by a pop-up. Most of the time a new tab is a pop-up. Can you show me any example?

    Hi Chris,

    When using standard Facebook and twitter sharing buttons, a pop-up is generated as seen in the screenshot I send you. But when I click on the share this buttons from your theme, the new screens are opened in a new tab.

    That pop-up is a new page 🙂 The thing is that it is resized and altered content with javascript. Or in some cases the content opens in an iframe.

    Though you can try something like this:

    You need to edit the file named “share-icons.php” located in the theme’s folder > framework > inc.

    That is an example for the FB button. Take a look and compare the default one with this one here. This way you can adapt it for all your desired buttons.
