    i would ideally like to display a random testimonial every time a page loads- unfortunately the way the shortcode works now i only see the same latest testimonial or the last three testimonials if i set the items count parameter to three for example. Can you please suggest how i can display a specific testimonial by ID or better yet a random single testimonial? I can seem to locate where to modify the shortcode? any suggestions- I’ve even tried to use other testimonial widgets but your inbuilt testimonial taxonomy seems to over ride the use of other testimonial plugins – thanks in advance

    Hi there,

    Here’s what you can do:

    1. Insert one testimonial into the page.

    2. Edit the file named “shortcode.php” located in your WP folder > wp-content > plugins > sd-fitness-post-types > inc and on line 243 you’ll see this:

    'orderby' => 'date',

    Change it to this:

    'orderby' => 'rand',

    Save. Done.

    You can try this (note that I did not test this method):

    In the same file just before line 233 this:

    'items' => '1',

    add this:

    'name' => '',

    Now, just before line 240 this:

    ‘post_type’ => ‘testimonials’,

    add this:

    'name' => $name,

    Now, when you create your shortcode make sure to add the name attribute and assign it the post slug.

    Save. Done.

    Example:

    [sd_testimonials items="1" name="the-post-slug-here"]
