Hi!
I have strange code showing up in the address bar of the browser when I open my web page. It has something to do with the Revolution Slider because the code changes every time slides are changing. When I open my web site and the first slide changes, then the code #1444073674571-16de92d6-224d shows up.

Hi there,

That is the code generated by the tabs not the slider. It is the unique id of each tab that you click on. You shouldn’t worry about it because it isn’t affecting the site in any way.

I know it shouldn’t affect the site in any way, but it looks really bad. Plus, I saw another web site which uses this template that the code doesn’t show up. You can see for yourself: http://www.sveucilistelibertas.hr. So I guess that it can be avoided, I just don’t know how.

That site is using an older version of the theme with an older version of Visual Composer. I’m afraid this is how the guys from Visual Composer made the tabs.

Though, if you don’t like how it looks the least you can do is make custom ids for your tabs (eg. instead of 4jkh3432kjh you put something like my-tab-1).

OK, we’ll just have to deal with it.

However, I have few more questions…

1) I can’t find the option to translate some elements of the web site. I have set up WordPress to use my language (Croatian) but there are stil some elements that contain english words. For example, buttons “Read more” in the news (on the homepage), the input field on the bottom of every page, the search field… Where can I translate those elements?

2) Where can I set the option not to display the author’s name on the blog post page (http://bak1.bak.hr/2016/02/01/menadzment/)?

3) Can I widen menu so that the entire page title fits? You can see that some menus look good, but on some title breaks in two rows and that looks bad.

1. That’s weird. What version of the theme do you have installed?

2. In the theme options page > Blog you can find the options to disable the post meta.

3. Try to paste this in the theme options page > Styling > Custom CSS box:

5) How can I style the “Read More” buttons that appear in the “Latest blog” element? You can see it on the web site (http://bak1.bak.hr) that every button on the homepage is blue with white text, except for those buttons. How can I make them look like the other buttons?

1. That’s weird, I’ve attached the language files that are on my demo page. Let me know if you can find the proper strings.

3. Can you post the url of a page where it looks bad or a screenshot with the problem? I’ve checked it out but it looks ok on my side.

4. Yes you can put links on any section of the slider. What version of the slider you have installed? You can get the latest version from here: https://skat.tf/go/rev-latest/. When you click on an item you’ll see some tabs on top. You need to click on “Actions” tab, then the plus sign > Click > Simple Link.

5. Try and paste this in the “Custom CSS” box in the theme options page > Styling:

1) I can’t find those strings in the attached language files. There is only “Read More…”, but the text in the buttons says “Read More”. Besides, the string “Read More…” is translated in the language files for my language. Any other ideas?

3) The menu looks bad on all of the pages. For example, look at the menu “Testing”. It contains two submenus called “Short submenu” and “One really big submenu”. The first one is OK because it’s short. The second one breaks into two rows. If it’s too big to fit in one row then the second row should at least be closer to the first row. I hope you understand what I’m saying and that it can be done.

4) I can put links on images like that. The small problem is the mouse cursor doesn’t change to “hand” like it does on other “normal” links. Can you tell me how to fix that?

1. How are you translating the theme? I’ve checked and the strings are in the translation files.

3. Try this:

In the “Custom CSS” box paste this:

4. When you set up the link make sure you select “Link Type” as “a Tag Link” and not “jQuery link”.

1. I have simply selected WordPress translation for my language in options (Dashboard -> Settings -> General -> Site Language -> Croatian). Are you talking about WordPress translation files or MyUniversity theme translation files? If you are talking about WordPress translation files, I have searched those files for the string but I couldn’t find it. Could you point me to where it is?

1. OK, I have tried translating few lines of the translation files with Poedit, but nothing changes on the web site. Where should I put the translation files and how should I name them? I have put them in the directory wp-content/languages/themes/ so I have the following files in that directory:

wp-content/languages/themes/myuniversity-hr.mo
wp-content/languages/themes/myuniversity-hr.po
wp-content/languages/themes/myuniversity-en_US.mo
wp-content/languages/themes/myuniversity-en_US.po

What ever I do, I just can’t get the text Read More translated 🙁
