Hi there,

Make sure that in your WP dashboard > Settings > Reading on the “Blog Page” option there is nothing selected. It should display -Select-.

I tried your solution on my site but while it inserted the word “blog” in the coloured band it removed my post. I switched it back because I want to show the post but can you give me any advice on what else I could try?

Then as suggested above I make this change: WP dashboard > Settings > Reading on the “Blog Page” option there is nothing selected. It should display -Select-.

And when I go to the blog page the header has changed but the blog post which was there is no longer –

Ok thanks for the additional info. It works now. But it leads to me another question/problem.

When I have use drop caps in the blog posts they appear correctly. But when you go to the “Blog” page it lists summaries of each post and if drop caps was used it doesn’t display the first letter. See attached.

Try this:

Edit the file named “functions.php” and add this at the top just after the starting php line:

add_filter('the_excerpt', 'do_shortcode');

This should fix the problem.
