    I’ve just installed Helping Hands, but I cannot update the Visual Composer to the latest version(4.12.1). I have 4.12 installed.

    When trying to update this plugin I get this error message:

    An error occurred while updating WPBakery Visual Composer: To receive automatic updates license activation is required. Please visit Settings to activate your Visual Composer. Got Visual Composer in theme?

    I got to the settings, click on the button that says “Activate Visual Composer” and it takes me to a page on wpbakery.com that says “No licenses found”.

    Do I need to purchase a separate direct license for this?

    The same goes for the Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer plugin.

    When I try to activate that plugin, I need to enter in a purchase code. Do I need to purchase a separate direct license for this one too?

    Hi there,

    You don’t need a license key because you got the plugins bundled with the theme so please disregard those messages.

    You need a license only if you want direct support from the plugin developers and not from me (I’m supporting both the theme and the plugins).

    I’m having this problem, too. Does this mean we cannot update the plugin even though it says there is an update available? When I try to update it, I see this error: “Update Failed: Update package not available.”

    Hi there,

    You’ll need to wait until I make the update available with the theme. What is the current version that you have installed? The current theme has 4.12 bundled and the latest version is 4.12.1 so there isn’t much of a difference. Though, I’ll update asap.
