    Hey,

    You’ll need to edit the file named “content.php” located in the theme’s folder > framework > inc > post-formats and on line 26 replace this:

    <?php the_excerpt(); ?>

    with this:

    <?php the_content(); ?>

    Save. Done.

    I implemented this change in my child theme as instructed and I am still seeing the excerpt instead of full content when I visit http://4afsfit.com/blog/. (I also tried implementing the change in the core theme but to no avail…and obviously I would like to keep the changes to the child theme if at all possible.)

    Any thoughts as to why this might be happening?

    Hey,

    The code must be in the theme and it should work in the child theme too. But are you sure you’ve made the changes in the correct file? Note that you cannot edit that file through your editor because it’s not accessible. You need to do it via FTP.

    I have implemented the change using Coda and then saving the file to the server via FTP.

    I made the change to the following file:
    wp-content/themes/getfit_child/framework/inc/post-formats/content.php

    I put the change to line 26 back in place for now but I am still not seeing full post content displaying at http://4afsfit.com/blog/. Am I missing something? Or does this change take time to propagate for some reason?

    I think you have a wrong setting in your site. Go to your WP dashboard > Settings > Reading and make sure that on the “Blog page” option there is nothing selected. It should just display “-Select-“.

    The http is not the problem. Here’s the errors that I get when I try to connect:

    All I get is an empty directory.

    I wrote to our webhost about this and here is what they said:

    It looks like your client is going into passive mode after connecting. This is a rather common issue and I’ve setup your FTP server to use passive mode now, and opened the necessary port range in your server’s firewall.

    Please try connecting again and let me know if you’re still having any issues, or if you have any questions or concerns regarding this.
