You should be able to override files, but I don’t think you can edit files directly in the FTP application. I gave you full access, admin, full privileges to this install. I’m not sure what specific changes you were trying to make, but I know WP Engine has certain requirements that they put into place for security measures to prevent vulnerability. One of the requirements that I know of is file permissions. For example, if you try to change a file’s permissions too high, WP Engine will automatically kick it back down to the previous permission in order to prevent hacking. I hope that helps.

Also, just FYI, this might have been one of your file edits: I’ve used the latest event/blog element on the homepage, and in the space on the gallery post (where the featured image should be), there is now this text: 626 bla
It’s not on the blog page itself or the individual gallery blog post page. It’s just on the homepage under the event/blog element. It wasn’t there last week, which is what made me think this was part of your troubleshooting. Is it not? I’ve attached a screenshot incase my explanation was a bit confusing.

Yeah, if you go up to the WP Engine tab in the back-end (above Dashboard) and go to General Settings, you’ll see a button titled “Reset File Permissions”, which you can use after you’ve uploaded a file(s) via FTP application.

Sorry, I’m still having a couple issues with this. On the blog page template, the first slide of the ‘Sample Gallery Post’ is still showing the text ‘bla’. It’s fine on the individual post page and on the homepage ‘Latest Blog’ element. It’s just on the blog page: http://espetsalive.wpengine.com/blog/

Also, I’ve checked the image pixelation issue on other people’s devices, and I’m still having the issue. The images look just fine on the individual blog post pages, but the image pixelation is really bad on the ‘Sample Gallery Post’ on the blog page (on all devices). And all blog post images are pixelated on the ‘Latest Blog’ element on the homepage (on tablet & mobile devices). I’ve checked it using Firebug, and it’s showing that the images are 360px width when the flex slider container is 750px width. But the images I’ve used are all 1970px width or more. Same issue on the homepage ‘Latest Events’ element (on tablet and mobile devices), but the images look just fine on the events page template and on individual event pages. See attached screenshots.

Any idea what’s causing this or how to fix it?
