2. Somehow it was not working even if the pictures were smaller than the full size. I must have made some mistakes but now it’s working!

Hi again Chris,

I thought you were on holiday, no worries. I just realized that my changes of the CSS work only if I make them directly in the styling of the theme (I was applying them on a style.css file in the child theme folder without success). I am also translating the po file but when I search for the things I want to translate (I might not translate everything), I don’t find it. So now the question is: might “View Event”, “View Professor” etc share a part of the phrase? I mean, will I find “View” as a single word repeated in some parts of the theme? Is it the “View %s” I find that is shared?

Going back to the point 3, beside using images of the size you suggested which would be perfect, is there a way to automatically fill that “area” proportionally whatever size of pictures I use? For example, I made a white background of 764×400 px and resized a image that was 500×500 in order to have it displayed in the middle of it, and then I used it as a featured image, but I surely can’t do it every time. The best would be for images to auto adapt automatically. Is there a way?

Hello again Chris,

I have a few questions to ask.

1) I was used to put in the child theme folder all the modified php files, but somehow this method doesn’t seem to work anymore. For example, I changed the sd-functions translating the “read more”, “view professor” etc. in Italian, but it’s not working (I had done it some days before the functions.php modification you made for me, and it worked though). How shall I do it?

2) Another thing I had done was to hide date, author and comments of the posts, but this doesn’t work anymore either. Shall I do it on the style css or in the post-meta.php?

3) the featured images are all “cut”. Is there a way to show them fully in their “box”? How can I fit them proportionally in? I’d also like them not to be shown once I “open” the post clicking on “read more”, otherwise they are double (example). How can I dod that?

4) When using an ipad, the menu appears and quickly disappears, unless you use it “landscape”. How can I fix this?

Unless I misunderstood what you mean?

Strangely enough it works on professors I didn’t add the website, and not on the ones I added it though….
