    Hello there

    I downloaded and installed your theme and also the demo data, but unfortunately, whenever I click on a menu voice, I always get the same error message: “No input file specified” (the home page is the only one working). What can the issue be? Please help me!

    Hey Enrico,

    It seems that there’s a problem with your permalink settings or your server’s url rewriting settings.

    What hosting are you on?

    The urls of the links are looking like this:

    http://www.enricotrevisan.eu/circoloverdi/index.php/2014/09/23/school-of-technology/

    but are supposed to be like this:

    http://www.enricotrevisan.eu/circoloverdi/2014/09/23/school-of-technology/

    Note the extra “index.php” in the first link.

    If you disable the theme and enable the WP default one are you getting the same error?

    I tried to change the theme and I get the same error. My site is hosted by Aruba.it and I wonder if the problem is caused from the application installer or else. I will investigate. Thanks for the help…..

    Damn, I was sure I had saved the permalink with post name, but for some reason it didn’t take the option and was still on “personal”. I changed it, saved and now everything works! Thanks again for your help! Even if it’s not the right post to say it, if I may, I would suggest you to add some more documentation to this theme, especially for events, professors and courses. I must admit I had to load the example pages in order to go on with the site. Thanks again

    I’m glad you’ve figured it out.

    The events, professors and courses work mostly like the normal posts.

    No worries, please do let me know what would you like to see in the documentation files. What you didn’t understand properly from the documentation files? In fact I’m very interested in this so I can refine it for my future releases.

    Well, the fact that the theme was crashing because of the permalinks didn’t help for sure so maybe I would have found less problems without this issue. Now I’ll go on building the site and let you know if I find other difficulties in setting the special pages. By the way, great job :)!

    Hello again Chris

    now that I’ve been working a bit on it, I can tell you what my difficulties are. To start of, I was expecting the theme to have templates which are easy to modify and adapt, but this is not the case. For example, if we talk about professors, I realized that their pages are made with visual composer so, if I have to create a new professor page, even selecting the “professor” as a page template, I need to use visual composer if I want this page to look like the ones you created or similar to it. The other option is to modify the examples you made, but then again, it’s not easy to figure out how to do it. I tried with the one of Sonya Blade, for example. I managed to replace the name, texts and fields like “degree” or “experience” or “contact info” (when I tried to delete two of the fields made a mess), but I didn’t manage to change the main picture (when I change the image in evidence, this changed the picture of the professor in the page where all professors are, but not on the page of the specific professor). In addition, I had created new disciplines and when I added them to the professors page (which I renamed Insegnanti), all the professors disappeared until I understood there was a linking with other things. This theme is quite complex, I must say, and I’m not one with no knowledge at all. I guess I need to start learning how to use visual composer if I want to go on with this work and I didn’t expect I would need to. Maybe I’m just too bad but the documentation should be more detailed since parts of the theme are made with visual composer and are not easy to create from skratch.

    Thank you for the feedback. I’ll def. try to make things easier and explain them better.

    If you import the demo content you can make templates out of every page and post. For example you can go to a professor item imported from the demo page, edit it the way you like and then in the visual composer > templates you can click “save template” and the next time you want to create a professor simply click on the template and it will be inserted into your content.

    Also, please check the documentation of the visual composer also.

    Hey Chris

    I’m slowly getting practice with the theme but I have one more question. If I need to change professor’s option and let’s say add one field, what shall I do? You have integrated the mail, facebook, twitter, g+ and skype icons, and since I’m using the theme for a music school, some teachers are musicians and have their own website which I’d like to add. Could you please help?

    Hey,

    To add more icons you need to alter the code of the professors page and the metaboxes responsible for the page.

    Here’s what to do:

    1. Go to the theme’s folder > framework > inc > metabox and edit the file named “the-meta-boxes.php”.

    Now, starting on line 134 you’ll see this code:

    'name' => 'Skype Id',

    )

    Replace all this code with this:

    2. Go to the theme’s folder and edit the file named “professors.php”. Just after line 98, this:

    And just after line 118, this:
