Hey,

The metaboxes must be edited differently from the child theme. I’ve almost finished adding a metabox but I’ve made a typo in the code and now I receive an error and don’t have access to fix it. Please login via ftp, disable the theme and remove the extra code from the “functions.php” (in the child theme folder) so I can fix it back.

I’ve added a function to add the additional field. You can now see it in the functions.php file of the child theme.

Now, you need to add the data to the header.php file.

Make the changes mentioned before but instead of the last piece of code paste this (which is the corrected code):

I would have done it for you but I can’t add files to the child theme folder.

Sorry, I meant the “professors.php” but I was working on a theme in “header.php” file and I just wrote header 🙂

Hi there and sorry for the delay. I was out of office for the last 3 weeks for the summer holiday.

1. Instead of changing the strings from the files is better to edit the language files from the “lang” folder, rename it to it_IT.po and make your changes.

2. You can use css. Where are you making the changes in the theme options page or a file?

3. Your images are a little to small. The best dimension for the images would be 764×400 for them to look perfect.

To remove the featured image simply add this to the theme options page > Styling > Custom CSS box:

.sd-single-blog-entry .sd-entry-thumb {
    display: none;
}

4. Fixed it by adding a custom styling in the theme options page > Styling.

Hey Enrico,

1. The strings are located in the .po file. If you hit CTRL + F in poEdit and search for “view professors” does it find anything? If not, can you try and download the latest version of the theme and check the language file and see if it finds it?

2. I can guide you on how to make the image fit but it will look awful just by making changes from css code. The size of the content is 764px and if you add a 500px img. and adjust it to 764px via css it will look very distorted.

1. That’s weird. I’ve attached the latest version that I have. Take a look and let me know if this is ok.

2. Sorry but I think I do not really understand. Currently the featured image will be displayed in the size that you upload it if the size is smaller than the optimal (764×400). If you upload a larger image it will be cropped proportionally to fit this size.

Do you want the image to have the maximum width of the content area (the content of the post)? If so the image must be 764 in width. max-width and height works only to prevent the image to go over the size of the parent element which is 764×400.
