    And how do I make the events sort by event date rather than post date? I need the event coming up next to appear first and then all the others to follow in order of occurrence after that.

    Thanks! Based on your direction, I was able to duplicate your latest posts shortcode and create my own for events and it’s working great. One other question I have for you though, my events don’t have an excerpt to show up in this view because the option to add one in the event admin is not there. How can I get an excerpt added for my events? I also need to sort the events by event date rather than by post date – how can I do that?

    Also, I’ve noticed when I use the shortcode [sd_blog cats=”1, 2″], it displays a row with 4 columns. I need to only show two columns, since I plan on showing 2 news items and 2 event items side by side on my page. How do I do this?

    Exactly… I want to post sections of both recent updates (pulling from the posts section of the admin) and then upcoming events (pulling from the events section of the admin) on my home page and I want the styling of both to look the same – like the “most recent updates”.

    Hi Chris,

    We tried changing the permissions and it still isn’t working.

    We also tried editing the style.css file located in themes > charity_child > style.css (both with the editor in the WP admin and via FTP) and it’s not recognizing changes to that file either.

    The only way that we can successfully modify the css is to add to the Custom CSS section of the Styling tab in the Theme Options section of the WP admin.

    What was the outcome of the implementation of VC into the Charity theme? We just recently bought the theme (a little more than a year after this thread was originally created) and VC is still not incorporated and we’re encountering the same problem with the [sd_centered] shortcode.

    How do you suggest that add the shortcode around the VC content? I’ve tried adding it in a VC text box and a VC Raw HTML element and neither seems to work correctly.

    I’m having the same issue. I’m using the child theme (v1.0.3) and if I activate the parent theme and change the accent color there it works, just not with the child theme active. What is the version number of the newest update that you released?
